It seems like the trend of kidnapping can only get better for the kidnappers and worse for helpless Nigerians. This time the victim is Actress Nkiru Slyvanus.
The Nollywood actress was reportedly kidnapped in Owerri, Imo State along with her personal assistant yesterday December 16, 2012. Sylvanus is the Special Assistant on public affairs to the Imo State Governor.
The story was confirmed by Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) President Ibinabo Fiberisima,
the AGN president was earlier quoted as saying; ‘We are trying to liaise with her state government to find a solution to it. It’s unfortunate that people can do things like this to people who make them happy‘
Sources at the Imo state government house told Sahara Reporters that Ms. Sylvanus was in the company of three others when she was snatched and driven away around 8:30 PM yesterday.
Her kidnappers later made her to call some friends to demand a ransom of N100 million from the state government for her release.
The governor's aide was reported to have been taping an episode of a public relation's show, "Inside Imo" which was expected to air on national television, when she was taken away in Owerri.
The police and other security agencies in the state have begun a search for the lady.
This comes in the wake of the release of Finance Minister Okonjo-Iweala's mum from the clutches of these evil kidnappers.
